Wednesdays in Lent
(except March 30)

taize.lent20.jpg

As part of our Lenten observance, we are offering a Taize’-style worship service in the sanctuary, Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 6:30.  Taize worship includes the reading of scripture, meditative singing, and a period of intentional silence.  We hope you’ll make this a regular part of your week during Lent.

HOLY WEEK-EASTER WORSHIP & ACTIVITIES

The week preceding Easter is known as Holy Week. It begins on Palm Sunday and is traditionally a week of somber reflection on the events preceding Jesus’ death: his triumphant entry into Jerusalem; his betrayal by Judas; his Last Supper with his twelve apostles; and his arrest, crucifixion and death. It is a week filled with emotion: joy, sadness, and back to joy (Easter morning).  The joy of Easter is that much sweeter having “walked” with Jesus through the events of Holy Week.  We encourage you to place these events on your calendar and join your church family in worship this special week.

PALM SUNDAY - April 10 (11:00 am)

“Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” The writer’s words in Psalm 118:26 set the scene for our entrance into the events of Holy Week. Today on Palm Sunday we, too, shout our praises and celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  We will also receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering (this Sunday and next).  After worship, families are invited to join in the fun of our Palm Sunday Carnival, filled with games and treats for all ages!

MAUNDY THURSDAY - April 14 (7:30 pm) - We’ll gather in the Sanctuary for a worship service that journeys with the disciples to our Lord’s table.  We will remember and give thanks for the new commandment given to love and the love enacted as Christ invites us to share in the bread and the cup.

EASTER - April 17 (11:00 am) "Christ is RISEN!"

Bring your family and friends for a joyous morning celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! Worship will also include the receiving of the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering. After worship, children are invited to participate in our Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn (weather permitting).
