The week preceding Easter is known as Holy Week. It begins on Palm Sunday and is traditionally a week of somber reflection on the events preceding Jesus’ death: his triumphant entry into Jerusalem; his betrayal by Judas; his Last Supper with his twelve apostles; and his arrest, crucifixion and death. It is a week filled with emotion: joy, sadness, and back to joy (Easter morning).  The joy of Easter is that much sweeter having “walked” with Jesus through the events of Holy Week.  We encourage you to place these events on your calendar and join your church family in worship this special week.

PALM SUNDAY - April 14, 2:00 pm

“Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” The writer’s words in Psalm 118:26 set the scene for our entrance into the events of Holy Week. Today on Palm Sunday we, too, shout our praises and celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  We will also receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering (this Sunday and next).

MAUNDY THURSDAY - April 18 at 7:30 pm (combined worship service and communion with

Winter Park Presbyterian); We’ll gather in the Sanctuary for a worship service that journeys with the disciples to our Lord’s table.  We will remember and give thanks for the new commandment given to love and the love enacted as Christ invites us to share in the bread and the cup. Pastor Jonathan will be preaching.

GOOD FRIDAY - April 19 (@ Winter Park; 11:00 am)

Come read, sing, and  remember the Good News that is found in Christ’s sacrificial love for us.  We will follow Jesus to the cross as we hear the readings of the Passion story and sing beloved and moving hymns.  Come and Worship.

EASTER - April 21 "Christ is RISEN!"

Worship at 9:00 am (@ Oak Grove Presbyterian Church)

Worship will also include the receiving of the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering (children be sure to bring your “fish” banks).  Oak Grove Presbyterian Church is located at 3736 Carolina Beach Rd.;near Independence Blvd.) Click here for map.
