Homecoming

Calling all members, former members, and friends of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church: We invite you to return to your spiritual home and join us for our annual Homecoming Celebration. Beginning with worship at 11:00 am, our guest preacher will be Mr. Andrew Barnhill (Grandson of Mary and John Cowand).  Following worship, we’ll gather in Jennings Hall for a delicious covered-dish luncheon. Welcome home!

 

MEET ANDREW BARNHILL

Andrew Barnhill is currently the director of the national Faith and Values Initiative in partnership with the Democratic National Committee and the Young Democrats of America, and a member of the state executive council of the North Carolina Democratic Party.

 

A Baptist minister affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Andrew's sermons have been featured in the Huffington Post and in several anthologies. Barnhill’s early career has been marked by work in the offices of U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre, Eleison Group (a faith-based political consulting firm), and Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell and Berkowitz, a law and lobbying firm in Washington, DC. Barnhill holds degrees from Furman University and Duke University, and he studied on a fellowship at the University of Oxford.
